MARC-REINER SCHMIDT, WINNER OF THE 33RD COYOTE SUPERBIKER IN METTET
The biggest supermoto event in the world was held this weekend in Mettet under a mild sky in front of nearly 25.000 spectators. Some 400 riders of 26 different nationalities were on the starting line to battle it out for 3 days on the historic track of the Circuit Jules Tacheny. As is the tradition at the Coyote Superbiker, several stars from the different motorbike disciplines mingled with the numerous amateur riders. The audience, as always placed close to the action, was kept on the edge of its seat by the thrilling races.
The highlight of the weekend was without any doubt the Coyote Superbiker final where the best riders competed. The trio Chareyre, Schmidt and Class were in a tight battle. Marc-Reiner Schmidt (D) took the victory (his 2nd consecutive win and 3rd in Mettet), followed by Thomas Chareyre (F), the 7-time superbike world champion, and Markus Class (D).
The Superquader crowned Cédric Zbinden (CH), while Maxim Cluydts (BEL), the 2018 winner, took 2nd place and Christian Mohring (BEL) was 3rd.
