THE WORLD RX OF BENELUX RETURNS TO THE JULES TACHENY CIRCUIT
The Circuit Jules Tacheny will host the Benelux round of the prestigious FIA World Rallycross Championship on the weekend of 5 and 6 August 2023. The ASBL RUMESM (Royal Union Entre Sambre et Meuse), the organising club, already has a great deal of experience, as the World RX of Benelux took up residence there for 5 years from 2014 to 2018.
Freddy Tacheny, president of the ASBL RUMESM: “On behalf of all our volunteers, I am very proud and happy to see the return of the World RX to our circuit, which illustrates in particular the promoter’s aspirations to return to more historical circuits, known for their technical layout, specifically designed for rallycross, as is the case at Mettet, Lydden Hill or Esterring. I would like to point out that the transfer of the event between Spa and Mettet was done in full transparency with the management of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit which hosted the Benelux round in recent years. It should be noted that this event will mix categories of cars with electric motors and cars with combustion engines. It will therefore delight both traditional enthusiasts and the new generation of aficionados, interested in the latest technological developments. We thank Arne Dirks, director of Rallycross Promoter GmbH, and the FIA for their choice, based on the trust gained during our 5 years of organisation between 2014 and 2018.”
